Bangkok, April 10th, (NNT): Secretary to the Prime Minister Suranand Vejjajiva has revealed that Mr. Alexander C. Feldman, president of US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC), paid an official visit to Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, during which they discuss promoting trade and investment with the Thai Government. Attending the meeting were representatives of leading US Companies such as Mastercard, Visa, Caterpillar, Coca-Cola, Chevron, Johnson&Johnson, GE, Google, HP, IBM, Microsoft, Ford, and General Motors. Mr. Alexander complimented Thailand as it played an important role in promoting cooperation between the U.S. and ASEAN. He expressed his gratitude for the country’s welcoming American investors and promoting business sector activities, as well as his strong belief in the nation’s potential to grow economically. He also promised more investment cooperation from the USABC business operators and the ASEAN member countries. Prime Minister replied to the comment saying that the nation is ready for more investment from the USABC, boasting the nation’s geographic advantages as the gateway to other ASEAN member countries. The premier said that the government would continue to push for infrastructure overhaul in order to reduce the costs of international and domestic industrial logistics, focusing on high speed rail link system, water management, and sustainable food, and energy security for sustainable development.
