NACC and NCPO investigate possible rice stock corruption

BANGKOK, 2 July 2014 – Mr. Panthep Klanarongran, President of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has disclosed that NACC officials will investigate areas involving possible fraud in the rice-pledging scheme, along with total rice stocks as well as the rice distribution process, to gather information for further investigations. 

National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) officials and representatives of other related sectors have also been requested to join the NACC in the probe.

Rice mills and storage warehouses, which have claimed unusual rice stocks, will be the first inspected.
