BANGKOK, 9 July 2013 The government is keen on helping Thai entrepreneurs in agricultural and food industries reduce production cost and increase their export volume.

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, along with Commerce Minister Niwatthamrong Boonsongpaisan and Finance Minister Kittiratt Na-Ranong, met with representatives of the agro-industry at the Government House yesterday. During the meeting, the Premier affirmed the government’s determination to help boost the agricultural industry, while reducing its production cost in terms of better access to raw materials.

Miss Yingluck further stated that Thailand prided itself on its food products, and urged food producers to keep up their standard, so that Thailand would still be able to cater to the world’s demand, especially in organic and halal foods.

Lastly, Miss Yingluck assured that the 2 trillion baht infrastructure project would provide Thai entrepreneurs with a long term solution to the high cost of transportation.
