PATTAYA, Thailand – With Pattaya facing unstable weather, thunderstorms and potentially high waves, Tourist Police are putting water safety firmly ahead of every trip to Koh Larn. Pattaya Tourist Police officers helped tourists put on life jackets before they boarded boats for Koh Larn, while explaining why the safety equipment is essential throughout the journey.
The message was clear: no passenger should head out to sea without proper protection.
Officers demonstrated how to wear the life jackets correctly and highlighted their importance in an emergency, particularly when changing weather can make conditions on the water more hazardous.
The safety campaign comes during a period of unsettled weather in Pattaya, with thunderstorms and rougher sea conditions creating additional risks for tourists travelling between the mainland and Koh Larn.
Tourists were reminded not to underestimate the sea simply because the crossing is short. Weather and wave conditions can change quickly, making a properly worn life jacket one of the most important pieces of safety equipment on board. The Tourist Police also reminded visitors that urgent assistance is available through the Tourist Police hotline 1155, the Thailand Tourist Police (TPB) application and the Police Care application. For visitors heading to Koh Larn, the message from officers is straightforward: enjoy the island, but make safety the first part of the journey.
