NAKHON RATCHASIMA, Thailand – A 39-year-old general worker and his wife are celebrating a 12 million baht lottery windfall after buying just two tickets because the number 640 caught her eye.

Phitsanu Warin, 39, and his wife, Panatda Suwannarat, 38, who works as a private-sector employee, took their daughter to Muang Nakhon Ratchasima Police Station at around 11 p.m. on September 16 to record the win as evidence.

The couple held two matching Government Lottery tickets bearing number 730640, the first-prize number in the September 16, 2026 draw. Together, the two tickets are worth 12 million baht.

Panatda said she bought the tickets through a lottery seller in a group chat. The seller sent her images of several ticket sets to choose from, and she was drawn to the ending 640, which she thought was a particularly attractive number. She selected two matching tickets for just 180 baht.

Panatda said she had not expected to win the first prize and initially thought she might only get a partial match on the final digits. When the winning numbers were announced, however, she noticed that 730640 matched the first prize. She then called the seller, who was livestreaming at the time, to confirm that the number was correct. The seller confirmed that she had indeed won the first prize.

After learning that the tickets were worth 12 million baht, Panatda said she called her parents first. They initially asked whether she was certain before celebrating with her. The couple said they plan to use the winnings to start a business, pay off debts and set aside money for their family and their daughter. They also plan to give part of the money to their parents and make merit.

After confirming the win, the couple travelled to Khon Kaen to collect the winning tickets from the seller before returning to Nakhon Ratchasima. They then went to Muang Nakhon Ratchasima Police Station to record the details and establish their possession of the two winning tickets.
