PATTAYA, Thailand – The Pattaya Marathon 2026 has sold out in just two hours, attracting 21,727 runners from 58 countries and reinforcing the city’s ambitions to position itself as a leading sports tourism destination. The event was officially presented at a press conference at Dusit Thani Pattaya on Sept. 14, chaired by Chonburi Governor Naris Niramaiwong. Pattaya Mayor Poramet Ngampichet joined the briefing, along with Pattaya administrators, Tourism Authority of Thailand representatives, safety officials, private-sector executives and event sponsors. Pattaya City’s Tourism and Sports Office is leading preparations for the international race in cooperation with Tri-League (Thailand) Co., Ltd., government agencies, private-sector partners and sponsors.



The organisers are promoting the marathon as part of Pattaya’s sports tourism strategy while seeking to raise the standard of international sporting events held in the city. A highlight of the press conference was the launch of the official Amazing Thailand Pattaya Marathon 2026 race shirt, presented during a fashion show. Poramet said the city places great importance on the marathon, which attracts both Thai and international runners.

He said organisers were particularly pleased that all race places were sold within just two hours, with 21,727 participants registering from 58 countries. Beyond encouraging exercise and healthy lifestyles, the event is expected to generate spending for businesses and local communities while promoting Pattaya as a Sport City and sports tourism destination. The Pattaya Marathon 2026 is scheduled for Sept. 26–27. Pattaya City and relevant agencies are preparing race routes, traffic management, security, emergency medical services and facilities for runners and visitors to ensure the event runs safely and smoothly.


Following the press conference, Pattaya administrators, government officials and organisers held a coordination meeting covering the race route, traffic arrangements, security, emergency medical response, runner services and cooperation between agencies. The preparations are aimed at ensuring the marathon is safe and well organised while creating a positive experience for runners and tourists visiting Pattaya.
