
PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya Tourist Police were called to a hotel on August 13 after staff found a heavily intoxicated foreign tourist sleeping on a sofa inside the property. Hotel employees contacted police after finding the man severely intoxicated, speaking incoherently and apparently unable to care for himself. His condition caused concern among other hotel guests. Tourist Police officers arrived and found the man asleep on the sofa. Initial questioning established that he was a Russian tourist who appeared to be heavily intoxicated.
Another Russian tourist staying at the hotel then approached officers and said he knew the man. His friend helped him back to his room so he could rest safely and avoid causing further concern among other hotel guests. The incident highlights the role of Tourist Police in assisting visitors who may require help or safety assistance while travelling in Pattaya.
