PATTAYA, Thailand – Police have detained two men for questioning and obtained arrest warrants for two others as the investigation into the disappearance of Russian siblings Diana Nazimova, 22, and Roman Nazimov, 17, continues to widen. The latest developments follow the discovery of the siblings’ dismantled Honda ADV150 motorcycle, which had been buried in an old cemetery in Huay Yai, Banglamung district, about 200 meters from the Na Jomtien–Map Ta Phut motorway road. Hundreds of officers, volunteers and K9 teams have been searching the surrounding area for clues.
On Thursday afternoon, investigators from Pattaya Tourist Police, Chonburi Immigration Police and local police searched homes linked to two men known by the aliases “Suea Hoy” and “Phang.” Police suspect the pair may have helped two other suspects, known as “Pong” and “Thong,” evade a large police operation by concealing them under a tarpaulin on a motorized sidecar tricycle during the night. Investigators also suspect the four men may be connected to the burial of the dismantled motorcycle after receiving information from local residents.
Police located the two men at separate properties in the Map Fak Thong area and brought them in for questioning. Both denied any involvement and claimed they did not know the two wanted suspects. Authorities said they remain unconvinced and are continuing to question the pair at Huay Yai Police Station while examining possible links to the disappearance of the Russian siblings.
Meanwhile, Pattaya Provincial Court has approved arrest warrants for Thana “Pong” Kerdthong, 43, and Thongchai “Thong” Srinil, 39. They are wanted on charges of jointly committing nighttime theft using a vehicle or receiving stolen property. Police said the current charges relate only to the stolen motorcycle, as that is the evidence currently available. The investigation into the disappearance of the two Russian siblings remains ongoing.
