TURIN, Italy – Two young Thai fashion designers, aged 9 and 12, showcased collections featuring Thai textiles at Torino Fashion Week 2026 in Turin, Italy, held from July 1 to 5. Natthrada Mongkolariyanan and Chantharat Jampa were selected to present their creations on the international runway. The pair’s collections, supported by the A-LAMU Fashion Design Institute and the Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce, offered contemporary interpretations of Thai textiles. Paolo Pome, Honorary Consul of Thailand in Turin, attended the show and congratulated the young designers.
The designs were inspired by the Mudmee “Khor Chao Fah Sirivannavari” silk pattern, a textile pattern created by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya. The collections presented traditional Thai craftsmanship through the perspective of a new generation of designers.
The presentation demonstrated how Thai textiles can be adapted for contemporary fashion while creating opportunities for young designers to introduce Thailand’s cultural heritage to international audiences. Organizers said encouraging young talent and creativity can help expand opportunities for Thai fashion and support the country’s creative economy. (NNT)
