HUA HIN, Thailand – Hua Hin Police have forwarded a case involving a Qatari tourist who allegedly attacked several people near Hua Hin Beach to immigration authorities for consideration of visa revocation after the incident left six people injured, including a disabled elderly woman.
The incident occurred at around 7:15 p.m. on July 26 near the beach access area in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, after videos circulated online showing a foreign man allegedly chasing and assaulting members of the public in the area. Police from Hua Hin Police Station responded quickly and detained the suspect, identified as Abdulla Yousif Ha Al-Harqan, 40, a Qatari national, who had entered Thailand on a tourist visa valid until September 22, 2026.
Following the arrest, Hua Hin Police Chief Pol. Col. Kampanat Na Wichai ordered investigators to collect evidence, interview witnesses and arrange medical examinations for those affected. Doctors at Hua Hin Hospital confirmed that six people were injured, although all injuries were minor and no victims suffered serious harm. On July 27, both sides were invited to discuss compensation and medical expenses. The matter was settled with the suspect agreeing to provide a total of 100,000 baht in compensation to the victims. A disabled elderly woman received 25,000 baht, while the other injured victims received 15,000 baht each.
Police also filed charges against the suspect for assault under Section 295 of the Thai Criminal Code.
After legal proceedings were initiated, investigators submitted the case to the Prachuap Khiri Khan Immigration Office for consideration of visa cancellation and further action under immigration laws, citing the suspect’s aggressive behavior and the potential threat to public safety. Hua Hin Police said they remain committed to protecting residents and visitors, stressing that officers will continue to respond quickly to incidents and take legal action against anyone threatening public safety.
