PHATTHALUNG, Thailand – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn opened the Na Pakho Food, Lifestyle, and Tourism Festival in Bang Kaeo district, Phatthalung province, on July 26, 2026. Held from July 25 to 27 under the theme Community Charm, Local Flavors, the event promoted community-based tourism and stimulated the local economy by highlighting the unique lifestyle along Songkhla Lake.
Activities included boat tours of lakeside communities, sales of fresh seafood and traditional dishes, community product stalls, cooking competitions, the Miss Na Pakho contest, and a lakeside lifestyle photography competition. The Deputy Prime Minister stated that Na Pakho demonstrates how communities can leverage local strengths, such as traditional cuisine, local knowledge, and natural resources, to create economic value and generate sustainable income.
He expressed confidence that community-based tourism will help distribute income to local areas. The festival also promotes the identity of communities along Songkhla Lake and supports cultural, lifestyle, and culinary tourism. The initiative is expected to establish Na Pakho as an emerging tourism destination in Phatthalung, strengthen the local economy, and support sustainable community development. (NNT)
