PHUKET, Thailand – A 31-year-old Russian woman died after falling from the eighth floor of a condominium in Phuket on Wednesday afternoon, with police investigating the circumstances surrounding her death following reports of a heated argument with her husband. Officers from Kathu Police Station responded to the incident at around 1:35 p.m. on July 2 after receiving reports that a foreign woman had fallen from a condominium building in Kathu district. Emergency responders found the woman lying beside the building with severe injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 31-year-old Russian husband was found holding the couple’s one-year-and-two-month-old son and appeared visibly distressed.

He told investigators that the family lived on the eighth floor and that he and his wife had been involved in a serious argument before she left their apartment. A short time later, he was informed that she had fallen from the building. According to the initial police investigation, the couple had reportedly argued over financial difficulties and issues related to overstaying their visas in Thailand.

The woman’s body has been transferred for a forensic examination to assist in determining the cause and manner of her death.

Her husband told investigators the couple had argued shortly before the incident over financial problems and their immigration status in Thailand.
