BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand is hosting the international conference “ASEAN Youth United for Road Safety 2026” from July 1 to 5, at The Sukosol Hotel in Bangkok, bringing together young people from across ASEAN and partner countries to advance regional road safety policy. Deputy Government Spokesperson Patdarasm Thongsaluaykorn said the government, through the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security and partner networks, aims to show Thailand’s leading role in promoting road safety across the region.
The conference will bring together 60 youth representatives from 12 countries to join panel discussions, best-practice presentations, leadership workshops, and regional networking activities.
Representatives from national and international organizations, including the Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Interior, World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, and Youth for Road Safety, will also share knowledge and approaches to road safety.
The Deputy Spokesperson said a key outcome of the conference will be the development of ASEAN youth recommendations to be submitted to senior officials and to ASEAN ministerial meetings on youth. This process aims to turn young people’s voices into concrete regional policy. The conference also aims to raise road safety awareness among ASEAN youth and promote the use of technology and creative media in effective public communication campaigns. (NNT)
