Pol Maj Col Suriya Singhakomol, Secretary-General of Thailand’s ONCB, provides an update on the investigation into the heroin smuggling case involving a Thai flight attendant, confirming that a delivery rider previously under suspicion has been cleared by investigators.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand’s Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) has cleared a parcel delivery rider who had previously come under suspicion in the investigation into a Thai flight attendant accused of smuggling heroin into Australia. On July 1, the ONCB announced that the rider voluntarily appeared before investigators to cooperate with the inquiry and prove his innocence after his name surfaced during the investigation. Following detailed questioning and a review of the available evidence, investigators concluded that the man had no involvement in delivering the parcel containing the heroin. According to the ONCB, the rider admitted that he had delivered a package to the flight attendant, but it was on a different date and involved an entirely different parcel from the one allegedly containing the drugs.

Officials said the rider’s statement was fully consistent with the evidence gathered during the investigation. His testimony has been formally recorded, and authorities thanked him for cooperating with the inquiry. The investigation remains ongoing as ONCB officers continue reviewing CCTV footage from the area surrounding the delivery location in an effort to identify the actual courier who delivered the parcel containing the concealed heroin on the day of the incident. Authorities hope the evidence will help trace those responsible and uncover the wider drug trafficking network behind the smuggling operation.
