Bang Pa-in–Nakhon Ratchasima M6 motorway advances, eyes 2027 trial opening

Highways officials inspected progress on the Bang Pa-in–Nakhon Ratchasima M6 motorway, including construction works and toll plaza readiness, with plans for phased trial openings starting late 2026 and full public access during the 2027 New Year period.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Department of Highways Director-General Piyapong Jiwattanakulpaisarn recently led a field inspection of the M6 motorway project linking Bang Pa-in and Nakhon Ratchasima to monitor progress and accelerate construction in line with the project timeline.

During the visit, officials reviewed work under Contract No. 21 and inspected a precast concrete segment yard producing key components for elevated sections. The inspection covered production processes, quality control, and readiness to support ongoing construction.



The delegation also visited the Muak Lek toll plaza, where construction has been completed. Authorities are preparing traffic management plans, safety measures, and public services ahead of a planned trial opening of the Bang Pa-in–Muak Lek section on weekends before the end of 2026, with further details to be announced.

The full route is expected to open for public trial use in both directions during the New Year holiday period in 2027, with access available around the clock and free of charge. (NNT)
