Supamas Isarabhakdi has ordered the suspension of sales of two Thermos vacuum bottle models after overseas reports of explosion risks caused by pressure buildup. Authorities are removing the products from stores and online platforms while urging consumers to stop using them pending further safety investigations.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office Supamas Isarabhakdi has ordered the immediate suspension of sales of two Thermos vacuum bottle models, following overseas reports of explosions during use. The order, covering both retail stores and online platforms, was issued after a meeting with consumer protection agencies and digital platform operators concerning product safety and online sales standards. The Office of the Consumer Protection Board coordinated with the importer in Thailand after reports emerged involving the Thermos SK3000 and SK3020 models. Both models carry a risk of pressure build-up inside the container, which could cause the lid to eject forcefully and potentially injure users.

No injuries linked to the products have been reported in Thailand. However, authorities ordered the products removed from all sales channels while investigations continue. Consumers who own either model have been advised to stop using the products immediately and report any safety-related incidents to the authorities. The meeting included representatives from the Thai Industrial Standards Institute, the Thailand Consumers Council, the Electronic Transactions Development Agency, the Anti-Online Scam Operation Center, and major online platforms.
