The 2026 Damnoen Saduak Fruit and Local Goods Festival has opened in Ratchaburi, featuring premium produce such as aromatic coconuts, grapes, and guavas, alongside cultural events and OTOP products, as part of efforts to strengthen the local economy and promote tourism at the iconic floating market.

RATCHABURI, Thailand – Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office Napintorn Srisunpang officially opened the 2026 Damnoen Saduak Fruit and Local Goods Festival in Ratchaburi Province, emphasizing premium agricultural products to boost the economy and local tourism.

The Minister presided over the opening ceremony on May 1, 2026, at Wat Amorn Yat Samakhom in Damnoen Saduak District, where he was welcomed by senior local officials, administrators, and community leaders.

The festival showcases the agricultural abundance of Damnoen Saduak District, which is known for high-quality crops that are vital to the local economy, especially aromatic coconuts and grapes.

This annual tradition has continued for 37 years. Originally named the Sweet Grape Festival, it was renamed four years ago to reflect the district’s focus on aromatic coconut cultivation.

Minister Napintorn commended the collaborative efforts to improve livelihoods in Damnoen Saduak. He noted that the district’s diverse fruit, including aromatic coconuts, grapes, Kimju guavas, wax apples, and mangoes, has strengthened the reputation and revenue of both Ratchaburi Province and Thailand.

The Minister expressed confidence that this event would further raise the profile of local agricultural products and the floating market internationally. The festival includes the “Miss Damnoen” pageant, stalls selling fresh orchard fruits and OTOP goods, and nightly cultural performances.

Held from May 1 to May 3, 2026, the event aims to showcase local produce to a broader audience and boost tourism at key sites, especially the famous Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. (NNT)
