Thailand steps into quantum era with Chulalongkorn–IBM partnership

Chulalongkorn University has partnered with IBM Thailand to expand quantum computing capabilities, giving Thai researchers access to global resources through the IBM Quantum network and anchoring innovation at Siam Quantum Square.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Chulalongkorn University (CU) and IBM Thailand have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to accelerate the nation’s quantum computing capabilities and integrate Thai researchers into the global technological ecosystem.

Under this partnership, CU will join the IBM Quantum Innovation Center at the National University of Singapore.



The collaboration will grant Thai researchers, students, and developers access to:
Advanced IBM quantum computers and specialized resources
World-class learning pathways and practical experience with quantum systems
Direct connections to the global quantum ecosystem

The partnership will take place at Siam Quantum Square, CU’s regional hub for quantum research and innovation, which opened in January 2026.

Siam Quantum Square serves as a multidisciplinary center, with experts from the Faculties of Science and Engineering and the Chulalongkorn Business School working on both quantum hardware and software. (NNT)
