BANGKOK, Thailand – Thai pilgrims continue to arrive in Medina for the 2026 Hajj, with over 2,900 pilgrims having reached Saudi Arabia as of April 22.
On April 22, 2026, 359 Thai pilgrims on Saudia Flight SV3645 from Hat Yai International Airport arrived safely at their accommodation in Medina.
Officials from the Thailand Hajj Affairs Office and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah welcomed and assisted the pilgrims. Before checking in, each pilgrim received a Nusuk card, which is the official identification and service card for all Hajj participants.
Ismail Singhad, Hajj affairs specialist from Thailand’s Department of Provincial Administration, stated that 13 flights are scheduled for the first group of Thai pilgrims: 12 direct flights from Hat Yai to Medina and one from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Jeddah.
As of April 18, 2026, approximately 2,920 Thai pilgrims have arrived, representing the first major group of over 4,000. The remaining 1,000 are currently in transit.
The Department of Provincial Administration, as Secretariat to the Hajj Affairs Promotion Committee of Thailand, has coordinated closely with the private sector and Saudi authorities. Despite minor logistical challenges, operations have proceeded smoothly, with on-site officials resolving issues promptly to ensure the comfort and safety of all Thai worshippers. (NNT)
