Laem Chabang Port has extended the B5 container terminal contract for another five years as part of plans to improve logistics efficiency and prepare for the future merger of B terminals.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Laem Chabang Port has signed a five-year extension for the B5 container terminal concession as part of plans to strengthen Thailand’s maritime transport network and prepare for the future merger of the port’s B terminals.

The agreement was signed on April 20 by Rattakorn Khieophaisan, acting director of the Port Authority of Thailand, and representatives of Laem Chabang International Terminal Co., Ltd. at Laem Chabang Port Welfare Center.

Under the revised agreement, the B5 container terminal contract will be extended for another five years, from May 1, 2026 to April 30, 2031, under Thailand’s public-private partnership law.

Officials said the extension will help ensure uninterrupted operation at one of Thailand’s main seaports while paving the way for the future merger of terminals B1 through B5. The planned integration is expected to improve port efficiency, strengthen water transport capacity and enhance the country’s logistics network.

Annop Pornprapha, director of Laem Chabang International Terminal, said the contract extension was an important opportunity to continue cooperation with the Port Authority and support the long-term growth of Thailand’s maritime transport sector.

He said the company would continue focusing on international operating standards, environmental sustainability, improved management systems and the use of technology to boost efficiency.

Officials said the agreement reflects strong cooperation between the public and private sectors and will help support the long-term growth of Laem Chabang Port as Thailand’s key international trade gateway.
