Songkhla Governor Ratthasart Chidchoo confirms enhanced safety, fuel supply stability, and coordinated security measures as the province prepares for Songkran 2026, welcoming visitors via the Sadao Border Checkpoint and key tourism hubs including Hat Yai and Samila Beach.

SONGKHLA, Thailand – Songkhla Governor Ratthasart Chidchoo has affirmed the province’s readiness to welcome both domestic and international visitors for Songkran 2026, with sufficient fuel supplies and enhanced measures in place to support travel and ensure safety. The festival will run from April 10 to 15, with expected arrivals from neighboring countries, including Malaysia and Singapore.

Authorities have coordinated with local administrations, police, and related agencies to ensure the safety and convenience of tourists, starting at the Sadao Border Checkpoint. Measures include increased patrols, 24-hour tourist service points, traffic management, and security at event venues. Officials are also working with fuel station operators to maintain adequate supplies of diesel and gasoline during the high-demand period.

Provincial officials said fuel prices remain stable despite regional differences, with Malaysia recently adjusting to market-based pricing. The southern province is also monitoring consumer goods and transportation fares to prevent overcharging, in line with government policy.

Songkran events will take place across several districts, including celebrations in Sadao, Hat Yai, and the capital district. Activities range from street festivals and night events to beachfront celebrations at Samila Beach. Officials are encouraging residents to welcome visitors as the province prepares for increased tourism during the holiday period. (NNT)
