Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn leads sacred rites during the pillar-raising ceremony for the Royal Crematorium of Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother at Sanam Luang, joined by senior officials including Anutin Charnvirakul.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has presided over the pillar-raising ceremony of the Royal Crematorium for the Royal Cremation Ceremony of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother at Sanam Luang in Bangkok. Thanpuying Sirikitiya Jensen, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, and Culture Minister Sabeeda Thaised were also in attendance.

The ceremony began with Her Royal Highness paying homage to the Triple Gem and observing the Five Precepts before receiving a formal report from the prime minister. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn then performed ritual offerings before placing offerings at designated locations within the ceremonial grounds.

The rites continued with an invocation led by the Chief Royal Brahmin, accompanied by traditional ceremonial music and ritual elements. Sacred procedures were carried out on the crematorium pillar, including the application of consecrated materials, while the prime minister applied gold leaves and tied a ceremonial cloth around the pillar.

Her Royal Highness later took part in raising the crematorium pillar, holding the sacred cord as monks offered prayers, and ceremonial music was performed. After the pillar was set, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn completed the ceremony with ritual offerings, observed a traditional performance, and presented requisites to monks before concluding the proceedings.
