Public Health Minister Pattana Promphat says Thailand’s pharmaceutical supply chain remains stable, with authorities monitoring potential disruptions while ensuring hospitals maintain adequate medicine stocks.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Public health authorities have affirmed that national drug supplies are sufficient for several months, despite concerns stemming from the situation in the Middle East. Public Health Minister Pattana Promphat said the country’s pharmaceutical supply chain remains stable, as most medicines are sourced from the United States and China.

Pattana has instructed hospitals nationwide to review inventory levels and procurement channels to ensure continued access to essential medicines. Officials said current stock levels are adequate and there is no immediate risk of shortages.

However, the ministry is monitoring potential indirect effects from the regional situation, including possible shipping delays and rising transportation costs that could push prices higher. Coordination with hospitals and private sector partners is ongoing to ensure the steady distribution of medicines and medical supplies.

Officials also said hospital emergency operations continue as normal, with facilities maintaining readiness for emergency response and patient care. Authorities added that there is no need to stockpile fuel at this time, as overall operations remain stable. (NNT)
