Officials monitor developments in the Middle East as Thai authorities coordinate assistance for nationals in affected areas while maintaining energy stability and fuel supplies at home.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Joint Management and Monitoring Center for the Situation in the Middle East has reported that Thai authorities are continuing efforts to assist nationals affected by ongoing unrest while managing domestic energy stability amid global price volatility.

Officials reported that tensions remain elevated, with continued air strikes and disruptions impacting key infrastructure and shipping routes, including oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. Thai nationals have been advised to leave high-risk areas and register with authorities. Evacuation operations from Iran are being carried out in phases through Türkiye, with more than 1,100 Thais assisted so far, including crew members of the vessel Mayuree Naree.

Regarding energy preparedness, authorities said Thailand’s six refineries are operating at full capacity, producing sufficient gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel. Recent queues at fuel stations were linked to distribution delays rather than supply shortages, as logistics systems respond to increased demand.

Total fuel availability exceeds 100 days when combining domestic reserves, shipments in transit, and confirmed purchase contracts. Inspections across fuel depots confirmed that stock levels match reported figures, while coordination with relevant agencies is underway to improve delivery efficiency.

Authorities urged the public to maintain normal consumption and avoid panic buying, warning that demand spikes have strained distribution. Additional crude oil sourcing from regions outside the Middle East is also being pursued, while diplomatic coordination continues to support safe navigation for Thai vessels in affected waters. (NNT)
