BANGKOK, Thailand – Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra received visible public support following the conclusion of a hearing over an audio clip case involving her and Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen. Citizens outside the Constitutional Court shouted “Keep fighting, Prime Minister!” while she acknowledged the crowd with a hand wave and a smile.
The hearing lasted approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Constitutional Court President Nakarin Mektrirat emphasized that the proceedings were recorded via closed-circuit television and reminded attendees not to disseminate information or distort facts in a way that could mislead the public.
The court has set a deadline for the parties involved to submit closing statements by Monday, August 25, earlier than the original August 27 deadline. A verbal consultation and decision-making session is scheduled for August 29 at 09:30, with the verdict to be read the same day at 15:00.
During the hearing, the Prime Minister appeared composed. After exiting the courtroom at 13:24, she greeted supporters, including 75-year-old Sara Sasanakul from Pathum Thani province, shaking hands and thanking her personally. (TNA)
