Father Ray TV show wins Catholic media honors

The Father Ray Foundation’s “Stand By My Side” television program was named the year’s outstanding TV show by Thai Catholic Media.

Foundation Vice President Fr. Michael Picharn Jaiseri accepted the award Nov. 29 at the Arnoma Grand hotel in Bangkok.

‘Kieng Ba Kieng Lai’ showcases disabled children and promoting employment opportunities for them. The 30-minute program shows the potential of disabled youths and their worth in society. It airs Saturdays at 5 p.m. on NBT.

Jaiseri also announced the launch of the next SOS Rice Appeal, which collects food and money for less-fortunate families. The opening drive was held Dec. 2-5.

Notices and donation boxes are set up in supermarkets and shopping malls throughout the area.

There are currently more than 900 disabled children under the care of the Father Ray Foundation and 75 tons of rice are needed yearly to feed them.
