Entertainment

Monday, March 1st, the Moon River Pub features Laem Morrison & Band at 10:00 p.m. Laem, the guitar king of Thailand, who has also toured many European countries and won many music awards, can even pull the guitar strings with his teeth - and it still sounds fantastic. He learned to do the trick after he broke his arm while on a tour through Germany. Not wanting to disappoint his many fans there, he played with his teeth. Go and watch him, it’s a great experience! No entrance fee! For reservations call Marion, tel. 370 614-6.

The Tahitian Queen 2 (Soi B.J., South Pattaya) will be holding a 25th (or something) Birthday Bash for EOD Steve on Sunday, February 28th at 8:00 p.m. They will be introducing some new "special shows", auctioning off many hot prizes, and showing off their new American-Style Kitchen with FREE plates of Burgers, Hot Dogs, Chicken Fingers, and Fries ALL NIGHT! To celebrate Steve making it one more year TQ2 will be treating all valid military ID’s the same as a TQ discount card. Just show your ID to the manager BEFORE you order to receive your rebate. This offer is good from 28 February on...

Pat’s Pie’s & Deli has opened a Supper Room, only 2 doors away from their old place (which is still open of course). The operating hours for this cozy place with the most delicious English food are: Wednesday to Monday from 16:00 hours until 21:30 hours (remember, Tuesday is their day off). The prices at the new dining place are very reasonable! For more information, home delivery service or reservations, call Pat, tel. 723 598.

2 more days of Australian month at the Verandah Coffee Shop of the Montien Hotel. The culinary bonanza on offer is out of this world - well, almost, it’s from Down Under at least. For reservations call 428 156.

Bacardi Promotion at the Moon River Pub! Buy 1 bottle, including mixer for only Baht 850 and receive a CD with South American Rhythms free. Good deal for every day but especially for Friday’s, Saturday’s and Sundays, because on those days they have a new singer joining the Soulhouse Band. Miss Kanitha Boonquakiet is not only beautiful, but has a great voice and can manage anything from Soul to Jazz.

Health

A pregnancy exercise class is being offered at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital every Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. The class can be joined at any time during pregnancy. Anne Barthelemy, a Belgian trained physical therapist with U.S. experience, including 5 years of teaching prenatal and postnatal exercise, is the instructor. The program includes pregnancy exercises based on yoga, stretches, breathing, strengthening routines, and some childbirth education (breathing through labor, pushing simulation and relaxation). Physician permission is required - a form can be picked up at the international department at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital.

A childbirth education class is also being offered at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital every third Saturday of the month, starting March 20th, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. This program will benefit mothers in their third trimester of pregnancy, as well as their labor partners. The format of the class will be presented, in English, in 2 phases during consecutive months. Classes will be conducted by Anne Barthelemy. The first month’s class will cover topics related to labor and delivery, breathing for labor, comfort measures and relaxation techniques. The second month will address issues related to breast feeding, early infant care and feeding and will offer a tour of the labor/delivery facility. A heavy towel or a blanket is required for both classes. Registrations for both classes can be done at tel. 427 752.
