One woman died and two men were injured when a violent thunderstorm
dropped a tree through the roof of their Naklua home.
Swai Kuweantrai, 66, suffered a skull fracture, internal bleeding and broken
bones in the May 15 accident at the Naklua Soi 12 house. Seven family members
were watching television around 11 p.m. when the storm plunged broken branches
into the house.
The following day, Pattaya Permanent Secretary Pakorn Sukhonthachat and
officials from the city engineering and social welfare departments visited three
homes on Soi 12 and Soi 23 damaged by the storm, presenting Swai’s relatives
with 5,000 baht in relief funds.
They then visited two houses in Niwet Village damaged by
falling trees and were given bags of relief supplies.
