New Year’s Eve was not a happy one for a British man
who returned home after celebrating to find his house burglarized and
hundreds of thousands of baht in jewelry missing.
Police were called to Raviporn Village in East
Pattaya around 2:45 a.m. Jan. 1 where Rajendra Vasantri, 51, and his
37-year-old wife Uthumporn Photpath stood in their ransacked living
room.
The couple said they’d gone out to celebrate the New
Year and came home to find their front door pried open and many of their
belongings tossed about and broken. Upon investigation, they found about
130,000 baht in gold jewelry, a diamond broach and diamond earrings were
missing.
Police collected fingerprints in hopes of locating
the burglars.
