Pattaya’s biggest networking event: Movers & Shakers

Cees Cuijpers and Xanny Disjad give the guests a very informal welcome.

This year’s ‘Movers & Shakers’ Charity Networking event took place at the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort on Friday the 3rd of December. This was indeed the biggest networking event that has been staged here in Pattaya.

Last year’s event, which was held at the Village, was a huge success so expectations were high as business people from the region descended upon the grounds of the Centara.

Tracy Cosgrove form the Melissa Cosgrove Children’s Foundation thanks Cees Cuijpers for all his hard work in setting up this year’s Movers & Shakers.

But what is ‘Movers & Shakers’? Well, it’s just that: it’s a platform for active players in the community to network, meet new and old friends and a means of raising funds for local charities.

The evening started off with a drinks reception replete with a live jazz band and it soon became apparent that this was going to be extremely well attended. The face of networking has changed somewhat over the last twelve months, partly due to the success of the Lighthouse Club, which has redefined networking into a non-exclusive informal get together.

Movers & Shakers take it one step further, with live music and glamour in a 5 star setting. The music continued with a performance by Princess Music, then guests were ushered into the main ballroom where they were surprised to find two VW Cocktail Vans inside the ballroom along with a wonderful finger buffet and free flowing beer, wine and whisky.

The entertainment continued with two Brazilian dancers taking to the stage, who were then followed by a brief speech by the main organizer Cees Cuijpers and the lovely diminutive glamour model Xanny Disjad.

They thanks for many sponsors of the evening including Kone Thai lift public company represented by its Managing Director Marc Spiegel; Siam Royal View CEO Roland Steiner, Rony Fineman, the managing director of Nova Groups whose condominium project The Cliff was also a primary sponsor.

There then followed a swimwear fashion show with glamorous models from Ariz Event design and entertainment including the beautiful Emmy Kamonrat Ladseeta adorned with high end swimwear from the Katalina Collection.

And the night continued well until its official ending time of 10:30 p.m. with the draught Carlsberg from Fluid Asia keeping the temperatures of the men down as they were surrounded by not just the models but also all the lovely ladies of Pattaya who had made an extra special effort for this event.

In one of the many interviews on Pattaya Mail Television Cees Cuijpers said that he was delighted with the turnout of nearly five hundred guests and that everything had went according to plan. Movers & Shakers, he said, would be even bigger and better in 2011.

This is definitely one of the fun tables at the party.

Coyote dancers from Insomnia add a little spice to the proceedings.

The ever popular samba dancers are certainly movers & shakers.
