Welfare
Development Center Director Utit Boonchuay and Pattaya-Phoenix Rotary
President Peter Aistleitner shake hands after signing the agreement.
The Rotary Club of Pattaya-Phoenix has signed a long-term
agreement to financially support the Banglamung Social Welfare Development
Center for the Elderly.
Welfare Development Center Director Utit Boonchuay and
Pattaya-Phoenix Rotary President Peter Aistleitner signed the agreement at a
festive ceremony and lunch party Nov. 26.
The contract calls for the Rotary chapter to meet with
seniors’ home administrators on a regular basis to monitor what the center
needs to provide the best care to its elderly residents. Aistleitner noted
this not only benefits the home’s guests, but also gives confidence to
sponsors and donators to the Rotary Club that their funds are being used in
the most-effective way.
Following the signing ceremony, lunch was served,
followed by a well-attended party featuring dancing, karaoke and games.
Aistleitner said Rotarians understand monetary support is
key to the seniors’ center, but that interaction with younger people and the
community are also important. He said the Rotary Club of Pattaya-Phoenix
will keep both in mind when planning projects to maintain happiness and
quality of life at the Welfare Development Center for the Elderly.
