R.I.P. Mike Franklin

Long time Pattaya resident Mike Franklin passed away peacefully at 7:45 a.m.
Wednesday, January 7, 2009 after a long, brave battle with cancer.
Mike was loving family man, a key member of the Jesters Care for Kids Charity
drive, Pattaya Mail contributor for both print and television, golf guru,
honorary Jester and perhaps most telling of his character, he was considered a
close friend to nearly everyone he met.

Pattaya blasts into 2009
with thousands of fireworks

Every night
throughout the week leading up to the final countdown to 2009, city sponsored
fireworks lit up the night sky. Shown here, this reached a crescendo at midnight
Dec 31, when many hotels along the beach joined in for a truly spectacular
welcome to 2009. Let’s hope the New Year lives up to its welcome. (Pattaya

Bosco’s Irish Pub

Irish cooking spread throughout the world when
families were forced to send their children overseas, following the potato
famine of 1845. Bosco’s Irish Pub hasn’t been around that long (in fact it had
only been open four months), but the popularity of Irish pubs has remained.
