All Jesters Care for Kids Charity Committee members would like to thank all Jameson’s staff, especially Moo (Pornthip Luanoi) and Wanchai Pingate who worked so hard during the party night, and a very special thanks to Ron Keeley who did a magnificent job wielding the auction hammer, and thank you everybody for making it a great night.

This year’s annual Vegetarian Festival continues until October 8. Supported by Pattaya City the festival is taking place at the Sawang Boriboon Thamasathan Foundation Naklua.

The Pattaya International Ladies Club (PILC) will hold their Annual Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, October 4, at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort in Pattaya and all the proceeds will go to local charities. The Asian Business Club will again organize a Networking Night on Saturday October 11, with the theme: Oktoberfest 2008. The venue will be Ina’s Beergarden and Pub, Soi Photisan off Naklua Road. Ina’s will provide a traditional Bavarian buffet, live music, a lot of beer and lot of fun. The event starts at 7 p.m. The entrance fee incl. buffet and soft drinks is 700 baht. All members, their families, business partners, guests and friends are welcome as well as other persons from any country who are interested to meet other business minded people.

The next meeting of Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be on Sunday, October 5. The club meets every Sunday morning at Henry J. Bean’s Restaurant on the north end of Beach Road in the grounds of the Amari Orchid Resort. The program starts as usual at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9:30 to 11 a.m., everyone welcome. This week the PCEC will have another interesting speaker to present a matter of interest to the club. For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone. After the recent success of the first ever Pattaya Amateur Radio Club meeting, the date of the next has been scheduled for 18:00 on October 10. The Pattaya International Ladies Club hosts a Black and White ball on Saturday November 15 at the Dusit Thani Resort. This is the biggest fundraising event for the PILC! Gallery Opium will host an exhibition by Jessica Rosensveig, starting 4 October, that showcases her photographs brought back from her various trips that combine human feelings and behaviour with change and movement.
