Calling All Vendors! The Pattaya International Ladies Club will be the host for a big Holiday Bazaar at Royal Cliff Beach Resort on October 8. The International Meditation Club organizes “The best of both worlds meditation training in Samatha (calmness & mind power) and Vipassana (insight & wisdom) meditation. These techniques are aimed at eradicating stress, tension, anger, anxiety and depression. This will enable you to lead a happier and healthier life. Training will be on the private beach at Pinnacle Resort and Spa during the holiday weekend from July 22 to 24. Instruction will be in English by international meditation masters. Clubs

Dr. Suradej Loiduenxai will be the speaker at the Pattaya City Expats Club meeting on Sunday July 17 at Henry J. Bean’s Restaurant in the grounds of the Amari Orchid Resort. Dr. Suradej is the orthopedic surgeon at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital. He is a member of the Thai Family Medicine Council and recently attended a workshop on knee orthoplasty in Shanghai, China. Dr. Suradej will be speaking about his work in general orthopedic practice with, no doubt, helpful hints for those who suffer from lumbar, hip and knee problems. He has expertise in replacement of hands and digits, tendon, muscle and ligament injury caused by over enthusiastic involvement in sport and exercise. A very useful speaker on the day of the Pattaya marathon. The meeting will start at 10.30 a.m. with buffet breakfast available from 9.30. All are welcome, entry is free. The Rotary Club of Taksin-Pattaya has arranged a fellowship evening, Saturday July 30, and would like to welcome fellow Rotarians from other clubs in Pattaya as well as guests. This is an eat all you can buffet with very reasonable drink prices. They are planning a nice social evening amongst friends, and non-Rotarians are welcome to attend. The evening starts at 6 p.m. at the ‘Your Hut Caf้,’ Naklua Soi 12. The British Chamber of Commerce Thailand (BCCT) in cooperation with Thai Leighton & Art Cafe invite you to an Eastern Seaboard Networking Evening on Friday July 15 from 6.30 p.m. at the Art Cafe Pattaya. Thai Leighton is sponsoring selected beverages and snacks on a first-come, first-served basis from 6.30 p.m. All other beverages are at standard prices as will the sponsored supplies have run out. There is no fee for BCCT members. Non-BCCT members and guests will be charged 500 baht per person for entry to this event. The BCCT asks that members respect payment of the non-member fee on the part of any non-member guests they may be bringing.

The Rotary Club of Taksin-Pattaya is pleased to announce that they will have the Austrian Consul as their guest speaker at their regular meeting on Thursday July 21. Anyone interested in listening to the interesting stories he has to tell is welcome to join us as our guest. The International Riding School at Horseshoe Point is hosting the 2005 FEI World Jumping Challenge on Friday, August 5 to Sunday August 7. The opening ceremony is on August 5 from 4.30 p.m. with show jumping classes to follow. The competition continues on August 6 at 8 a.m. with dressage classes, and at 1 p.m., the show jumping carries on throughout the afternoon and all day on Sunday August 7. Everyone is welcome to watch.
