Tens of thousands ring in the Year of the Rooster

This year marks the Year of the Rooster, and tens of thousands of Pattaya’s Chinese, and not-so-Chinese, communities crammed into Walking Street to celebrate Chinese New Year on February 9. Lion dances, a 50-metre long dragon, eating contests and fireworks ensured that the rooster would be plenty jovial, and would bring good luck to everyone.

Grandchildren aid grandmother during epileptic attack

Two children, just 3 years old and 19 months old, bravely helped their grandmother when she had an epileptic seizure while driving in her car. They struggled to stop the car and force open her constricted mouth.

A Pattaya Mail newspaper reporter was driving along Sukhumvit Road No. 3, Bangna-Trat in Sattahip District and spotted a tiny boy trying to stop a car. The reporter immediately stopped and saw a woman, later identified as the boy’s grandmother, Krasae Sukasem, 50, lying on the ground as a small girl was attempting to force the unconscious woman’s mouth open. The woman was grinding her teeth together, so the girl also tried her best to bring the woman back to a conscious state.

Royal Garden celebrates Valentines Day by giving young women a chance to win dream date with Thai star

On February 12 at the Royal Garden Plaza a special Valentines Day activity took place where one lucky woman had the chance to win a dream date with “Aonn” Sarawoot Marthong. Aonn has starred in the well-known Thai movie “Last Love” and recently made further headlines by surviving the Boxing Day tsunami. Over 30 eligible bachelorettes lined up to take part in the competition.
