Clubs

The guest speaker this Sunday at the Pattaya City Expats Club is Dr. Anna, a dermatologist from Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital. She will not only talk about skin allergies but also about general skin care. The Hospital will also be bringing some new equipment to show to members. As we all grow older skin is the one thing that shows the aging process and no doubt we are all vain enough to be happy to take on board tips to try and redress the balance. Pattaya City Expats Club meets at Henry J. Bean’s in the Amari Orchid Resort grounds North Beach Road just after the bend. Monday’s at Tropical Bert’s (Junction 2nd Rd and Soi Regent Marina) are Quiz Nights with a prize every week for the winning team plus a rollover prize. The thinking starts at 8.45 p.m. Tuesday is of course now well established as golf day; it starts with free breakfast at 8 a.m. and ends with prizes and food back at the bar. Please sign up in the bar early as they don’t want to turn people away. The weekends are sports days along with great burgers and Friday is good old-fashioned fish and chips, so all in all Tropical Bert’s is a great place to watch Pattaya and the world go by.

The BCCT is holding their next Networking Evening on the Eastern Seaboard at L’Opera, Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate (ESIE). This year’s Pattaya Gay Festival gets underway officially with a spectacular Viva Las Vegas Street party in Pattayaland Soi 3, South Pattaya on Sunday February 27. All very topical with the latest rumours of casinos coming to Pattaya. The street will have had a “make-over” and will be closed from 7 p.m. The entrance fee of 300 baht includes a free drink and donation to the PGF charity funds. Plenty of games during the early part of the evening. Shows from various venues including Throb/Splash show bars, Boyz Boyz Boyz and Topman will begin at 10 p.m. and the grand charity lucky draw will be held at 11.30 p.m. Already many local businesses have pledged their support by sponsoring with a 10,000 baht donation.
