Sacred Buddha relics arrive at Jitrapawan Buddhism College

Perhaps the most sacred event ever to take place in Pattaya is happening right now at Jitrapawan Buddhism College. Buddha relics from three countries, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Thailand have been brought to the temple, where tens of thousands of Buddhists over the next 88 days will come to worship. On Friday, December 10, a grand religious procession to celebrate the arrival of these relics of the Lord Buddha will pass through Pattaya and the surrounding community.

PM Thaksin tells governors they are key to implementing national strategy

Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra said he applauds regional governors’ efforts, and told them that they are the key to implementing national policies.

PM Thaksin made these remarks whilst presiding over the final day of the national CEO governor’s retreat on November 26 at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort in Pattaya.

Throughout the final day, the prime minister listened to suggestions and problems brought up by the assembled governors, and said he admired their efforts over the past year in improving government services.

Local Ladies clear the field in Thai National Lawn Bowls Championships

Three ladies from the Bowling Green took out first, second and third in the Thai National Lawn Bowls championship, held in Pattaya last weekend. The two-day tournament, organized by the Thai Lawn Bowls Association and sanctioned by the Sports Authority of Thailand, was held to select players for next year’s South East Asian games in Malaysia.
