Pattaya Music Festival kicks off this weekend
Security personnel doubled
for the event
One of the most popular annual events in the city, the
Pattaya Music Festival will kick off on stage one, North Pattaya for a 3-day
musical fiesta, drawing hundreds of thousands of people to the city. A
cornucopia of fun, gaiety and great music has made this event a world-class
The 40 million baht budgeted for the festival is also being
used to double security personnel from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 amid fears that
violence may erupt among youths.

Royal Highness Princess Somsawalee Kitiyakara was warmly welcomed by Royal
Cliff Beach Resort and PEACH managing director Panga Vathanakul (left) and
director of Sales, Thailand Sunisa Yusananda, as she graciously presided over
the opening of this year’s Asia Pacific Menopause Federation Scientific
Meeting at the Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall (PEACH). Now on its second
year, the event facilitates the exchange of views and expertise on recent
knowledge and possible measures to improve the health and well being of
menopausal women in the Pacific region.

The late change of the date from March 19 to the 12 and
the rescheduling to an 11 o’clock start, probably were contributory
factors to a quite poor turnout. Only 63 players turned out and only three
of the players were ladies. Still, as they say good things come in little
packages. Fine course, fine weather if a little warm, pity about the scores.
