Clubs

Pattaya City Expats Club meets on Sunday mornings at Henry J Beans Restaurant and Pub at the Amari Orchid Resort at the north end of Beach Road from 9:30-10:30 for buffet breakfast, and from 10:30-12:30 for entertaining speakers and open forum. Everyone welcome.

The Pattaya Motorcycle Club meets on Friday, at the “Old Speckled Hen” pub, Soi 9, Jomtien Beach from 8 p.m. onwards. Come along, meet new friends and enjoy “Bike Club Happy Hours” where from 8 till 10 its 10 baht off all beers and soft drinks and 15 baht off all spirits. Shenanigans Pattaya’s A La Carte Menu has many new items + all the usual weekly specials, including the Wednesday steak special of a large bowl of home made soup, 400 gram t-bone steak, a mound of chips and salad served with homemade bread and butter all for 195 baht. At Casa Pascal Restaurant everything is special. Not only Pascal’s design of the restaurant, but also the presentation of the dishes and drinks. Imported Tasmanian rock oysters and fresh white asparagus are now the best sellers at Casa Pascal. You can also enjoy the 580 baht wine & dine menu featuring a 3-course meal with smoked salmon and shrimps as a starter, beef tenderloin, and crepe suzette for dessert, including white and red wine as much as you like. With the festive season being just a couple of weeks away, Hans at the Paradise Restaurant is offering guests a special gourmet Christmas and New Year menu. Both set menus feature three appetizers, two soups, five main dishes and two desserts to choose from. There is something for everyone’s taste. The Christmas menu is served on Christmas Eve, and all day on Dec 25 from noon till closing for only 750 baht and the New Year menu is priced at 850795 baht. Those are some of the best value festive menus in town. Both menus will be listed in the Pattaya Mail later this month, or call the Paradise Restaurant for more information. Early reservations are highly recommended. And for those who look for some thing different, the Paradise Restaurant is Pattaya’s first and only casual dining restaurant specializing in exotic food, including ostrich, kangaroo, emu, crocodile and deer, a dining experience you won’t regret and forget. The line up for Christmas in the Queen Victoria Inn (Soi Yodsak 6) is as follows: Christmas Eve sees the Pattaya Orphanage Choir Carol Service at 6.30 p.m. followed by Santa handing over toys to the kids. The Sala Rim Nam Restaurant has an idyllic setting in the Marriott Resort & Spa’s tropical garden. Housed in an open timber Thai sala shaded by palm trees and overlooking delightful lotus ponds. As to the festive season, Art Cafe offers on December 24 a Festive Christmas dinner and on Christmas Day a festive Christmas lunch menu featuring the traditional turkey as the main course. Price for the 7-course menu complemented by a Kir Royal aperitif and a liqueur of your choice at the end is 1,350 Baht net. On New Years Eve there will be also a 7 course Year-End-Dinner served priced at 1,450 Baht. The ‘Yuri–Kon’ duo, a combination of double bass from Konrad Oehler and pianist Yuri Shemagonov are now playing live at the Elephant Bar, Pattaya Marriott Resort and Spa every evening, except Sunday, from 6.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. The Elephant Bar is an ideal place to relax, overlooking the pool and the gardens of the resort. A great place to meet friends and enjoy tropical cocktails, snacks or a brandy and a fine cigar.

A traditional Scandinavian Christmas evening buffet will be available at The Captain’s Corner on December 24 from 7p.m. including; Spicy Christmas grog, Seafood cocktail, Roast Pork, Roast duck, Red cabbage, brown sweet potatoes, rice pudding with cranberry sauce and a Texan style Bar-B-Que will be served. Events

Toys for Joy! Once again this festive season time the Thai Garden Resort is collecting toys, books, clothes, stationery and cash for HIV-infected children in the Camillian Center in Rayong. You are invited to place your goods under the Christmas tree in the lobby or at the Guest Service Office at the Thai Garden Resort. All help is welcome and we ensure that all will be delivered personally to the Centre in Rayong.

The annual PSC Christmas party is now being arranged; hopefully it will be the best one yet. There will be an international buffet, lots of spirits, beer and of course the fabulous lottery consisting of gold as well as many other nice prizes. The party will again be held at the Town In Town Hotel, doors open at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17. A nominal charge for members is 300 baht, members are allowed to bring one guest at a charge of 600 baht, the reason for limiting members to one guest is PSC expects a full house and do not want to turn members away. Tickets are required and will be on sale at the Pattaya Sports Club office starting on Monday, December 1 through till December 16 unless sold out. Please bring your valid PSC membership card when purchasing tickets.

Santa Claus is coming to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital on the December 20 from 10.30 a.m. till midday. The PRILL, a classical trio, will also be performing classical music on that day with the selection of Christmas, and the King’s composition. Bangkok Pattaya Hospital will start a tradition for free classical music series so the PRILL will be performing every 1st Saturday of every month at the lobby of Bangkok Pattaya Hospital from 10.30 a.m. to midday, starting January 2004. Don’t miss it.

Exhibitions

Phayao Butsumran and Bandhit Kotmanee Art Exhibition “The Lovers” featuring the works of two young artists from Khon Kaen will be held at the Art Cafe commencing Monday, December15. The Exhibition will preview with a cocktail reception in the garden from 7 p.m. and a set 5-course dinner after the official opening, which will be at 8 p.m. Price for unlimited cocktails and the 5-course dinner is 1,250 Baht net.
