Clubs

Rotary Club of Taksin-Pattaya meets weekly now at the Woodland’s Resort & Hotel on Thursday evenings from 7 p.m. Call President Dieter H. Precourt at Tel/Fax: 038 900 029 or 01 843 8279.

UK Club Of Pattaya will be meeting every Saturday for a social get together at the following venues: Saturday August 23 at Sportsman Inn, Soi 13 and Saturday August 30 at the Bangsaray Club. Meetings will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. All are welcome!

Pattaya Motorcycle Club. One more week to go before the inaugural meeting of this new club, which is generating a lot of interest from motorcycle enthusiasts and new riders alike. Topics for discussion will include road safety when riding in large numbers, organised tours from one day local rides to group tours to Chiang Mai, Phuket, Koh Chang (incorporating visa runs, perhaps?), maintenance, recommended service shops from the Big Jap 4 to American Iron, licensing and much more. So come along to the Old Speckled Hen on Jomtien beach road Soi 9 at 7p.m. on Fri. August29. Don’t forget, this club is as much for your pillion as for you, so bring the missus! Dining

At Casa Pascal Restaurant everything is special. Not only Pascal’s design of the restaurant, but also the presentation of its dishes and drinks. Hans Banziger at the Paradise Cafe and Grill has prepared a special Swiss Food Promotion throughout August. The Paradise Restaurant is also Pattaya’s first and only casual international restaurant specializing in exotic food, including ostrich, kangaroo, emu, crocodile and deer, a dining experience you won’t regret and forget. The Beautiful Game is back! And where better to catch it in Jomtien than the “Old Speckled Hen” on soi 9, just off beach road. With over 30 prime viewing seats, large screen, surround sound and your favorite Carlsberg draught at only 30 baht during any live match, you can afford to be there! This is the newest and most comfortable pub in the area, with great pub grub (anything ‘n chips!), no hassle staff and probably the cleanest khazi in Chonburi, so make it the place to watch all premiership matches. Oh, and any derogatory comments about the Hammers incur an immediate penalty of 1 beer to the guv’nor!

Every Friday Shenanigans Pattaya has a “Pig & Clucking Carvery & Buffet” from 5.30 p.m. to 11 p.m. This includes home made soup of the day, roast chicken, boned stuffed & rolled chicken, roast loin of pork with crackling and apple sauce, ham hocks, roast leg of stuffed pork, a selection of vegetables and potatoes, with a choice of ice cream to follow. George Sinatra is the entertainer at Jomtien Boathouse Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. Brochettes starts at 199 Baht, Steaks, all aged to perfection starts at 275 Baht. Bar-b-que lamb rack at 295 Baht. The Jomtien Boathouse is located on Jomtien Beach road, Jomtien.

The Image Band is back at the Captain’s Corner, singing all your favorite tunes every evening from 7 p.m. The all you can eat bar-b-q buffet, steaks and seafood starts at 6 p.m. and costs only 295 baht. The Moon River Pub’s Beer Promotion is still going on. Every guest receives a beer card for each liter of beer they buy. After consuming 9 liters of beer you will get one liter free of charge (every liter of beer that has been ordered will be marked on the card). The card is valid for 3 months. Events

The Pattaya Gay Festival’s next fundraising event is a Wine And Cheese Night At Le Caf้ Royale this Saturday August 23. Le Caf้ Royale will be hosting a Cheese and Wine Night to raise money for HEARTT 2000 and other P.G.F. charities starting at 8pm. Tickets on sale at Le Caf้ Royale price 750 baht of which 200 will go direct to the charities. Price of admission includes all Cheeses, European and Thai. Le Caf้ Royale is located in Soi Pattayaland 3. The following event is a search for Pattaya’s most Beautiful ‘Lady’. Lots of prizes with special prizes including ‘Miss Model’, ‘Most Photogenic’ and ‘Most Beautiful Dress’. Doors open at 9 p.m. on Sunday, August 31 at the South Pattaya School assembly rooms (entrance opposite Pattaya Shoe, Pattaya 2nd Road). The Pattaya International Ladies Club is holding their annual October Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, October 4 at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort, Pattaya. Doors open at 10 a.m. to the shopping spree of the year and continues on till either you drop or at 4 p.m., which ever comes first. All proceeds from the bazaar support the PILC Charities in and around Pattaya.

The Horseshoe Point Resort and Country Club is now holding A Bike And Brunch Event every Sunday starting at 9.a.m. For those who are fit there is a 10K cross-country and hard road bike ride, and for those not so fit a shorter ride of some 4Ks around the Resort. This is followed by a 15 minute leg and shoulder massage to remove the soreness and an all you can eat buffet, use of the swimming pool and a Kiddies Corner to keep the youngsters occupied while you enjoy your breakfast. D&M Music Studio in association with Embassy of Italy are pleased to present “An Organ Recital “ performed by Cesare Mancini, renowned Italian Organist who has performed as an official organist of the XXII National Eucharist Congress before His Holiness Pope John Paul II.
