SOCIAL SCENE

Minister of Tourism & Sport Sontaya Khunpluem (center), along with Chonburi Governor Pisit Khetphasook (2nd right) and many others visited the Ambassador City Jomtien Hotel booth at the Pattaya 4 Fun Fair held to promote Pattaya tourism. They are being welcomed by Mr. Anusak Rodboonmee (3rd left), the hotel’s deputy general manager.


With guests from Leeds, the Isle of Man and Scotland all staying at the Queen Victoria Inn, it was decided a Booze Cruise was needed. So after a liquid breakfast in the Queen Vic all headed out by longtail boat to home for the day “the good ship Lollipop”. Stores loaded (again liquid!) the crew headed off for an hour’s fishing to catch lunch before dropping anchor for the day in a local bay. Activities then included Biggest Splash (Peter), Highest Bellyflop (Iain), Most Drunk (John) and Most Groundbait, this was a joint effort by Al and James who are both fully recovered.


Staff of Diana Garden Resort, North Pattaya, led by Niwat Prathummes, manager, warmly welcomed 36-year-old Swedish national Johan Mostrom who recently joined the resort’s long-stay program. Johan is the first handicapped tourist to become part of the resort’s long-stay campaign.


Rear Admiral Roongrut Boonyarattabhan, Commandant, Naval War College, Institute of Advanced Naval Studies, representing the Thai Navy organized the “Western Pacific Naval Symposium Workshop 2003”, held at the Napalai Room in the Dusit Resort Pattaya Hotel.


The management and staff of Siam Asahi Technoglass Co., Ltd held a party in the Cattleya Ballroom of the Montien Hotel, Pattaya to bid farewell to Mr. Teruo Sato, managing director who completed his term of office in Thailand, and to welcome Mr. Akio Endo, new managing director and Mr. Akira Shibata, on the new executive team.


Felix Phichit Tantiprasut, general manager of Town In Town Hotel in Pattaya, joined his staff to celebrate the victory of the hotel’s women’s volleyball team during the competition recently organized by the Hotel Association Eastern Region.


This lovely couple, Ian and Olivia Sumner, are on their honeymoon and they will be here next month avidly visiting Shenanigans Pattaya.
