Announcements

The German Embassy Bangkok plans to hold a consular consultation day (Konsularsprechtag) in Pattaya on January 13. It will take place in the Amari Orchid Resort (Orchid Room) from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Clubs

The PILC will host their first monthly luncheon for 2003 at the Royal Varuna Yacht Club on Tuesday January 7 from 10.30 a.m. till 2 p.m. It’s close to the Cosy Beach hotel, and for those who need a ride there will be a pick up point on the corner of Pattaya Second and South Pattaya Roads at 10:20 a.m. Ladies of all nationalities are welcome. The January theme will be Australian since Australia Day is celebrated later in the month.

Pattaya Animal Welfare Foundation (PAWS) - approved and registered charitable foundation of volunteers dedicated to providing humane and systematic population control over stray animals. Events

Visit Ripley’s on National Children’s Day and get a free gift! To celebrate this year’s Children’s Day, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum is inviting kids up to 15 years old to spend the Nation’s Children’s Day and enjoy the world’s most unusual museum for just 2 baht per kilogram. Part of the proceeds from the admission fee will be donated to support the Thai Red Cross Project on AIDS prevention. In cooperation with the Horseshoe Point Resort and Country Club, the Lions Club of Jomtien Pattaya are pleased to announce their St. Valentines gala dinner dance accompanied by the Romance of the Three Kingdoms horse show to be held on Friday February 14. A full night is promised, commencing with the horse show followed by a five course silver service dinner and after dinner dance the night away to a professional band. Rose is the new mocking bird at the Captain’s Corner, nightly from 8.30 p.m. Sweet soothing music. Bangkok and Beyond

Wiener Opernball Orchester, A Gala Charity Concert with the Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra January 14 at the Oriental Hotel Bangkok, organized by the S.O.S. Thailand Foundation (under Royal patronage), with the support of the Austrian Embassy Bangkok, and graciously presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana (to be confirmed). This is a top event in the social calendar, an event to benefit children at the S.O.S. villages in Thailand. The Wiener Opernball Orchester, conducted by Professor Wolfgang Jelinek, has performed in Bangkok at several occasions in the past. The 33-piece orchestra returns to enchant a selected audience with works by W. A. Mozart, Johann Strauss, K. M. Ziehrer, Joseph Lanner, and others.
