District Chief transferred, urges citizens to vote

Sattahip District Chief Prasert Thanasethkorn prepares for his new assignment in Rayong.

On the 2nd of October, Prasert Thanasethkorn, Sattahip District Chief, announced to a meeting of the Village Heads of Sattahip that he had been transferred to the post of District Chief of Ban Dai, Rayong. He also announced that, as of October 14, Wanchart Wongchaichana will be taking his place.
Before he handed over the reigns to his successor, the District Chief told those gathered at the meeting that, after the dissolution of Parliament, the government has ordered all districts to prepare for the election of new MPs. Candidates for Chonburi are to be announced by the 15th of October. The deadline for Rayong is October 10th.
It will be the jobs of the offices of the Village Chiefs and Headmen to construct posters and announcements of who is running for office.
All officials urge those eligible to vote to do so on November 17, 1996.
