Pattaya officials claim progress in resolving Beach Road illegal parking

City Hall says they are seeing progress in efforts to resolve chronic parking problems on Beach Road.

Pattaya officials say they are seeing progress in efforts to resolve chronic parking problems on Beach Road.
Members of the city council’s Administration and Peace Maintenance Committee inspected Beach Road from Soi 4 to South Pattaya, focusing on vendors setting up shop on sidewalks and vehicles parking outside of designated areas. Officials said they thought both problems were “vastly improved.”
Pattaya Permanent Secretary Wuttipol Charoenpol said he has been negotiating with taxi operators and rental car and motorbike vendors to not disrupt traffic by parking their vehicles in traffic lanes. He said the city also has been working with street vendors to ensure they don’t block sidewalks.
The situation is not completely resolved, however. Officials still saw examples of both illegal parking and blocked sidewalks during their inspection.
