The Rotary Club Phönix-Pattaya and Skål International Pattaya & Eastern Thailand
hosted the “Springtime on the Beach” party for charity at the Pinnacle Grand
Jomtien Resort and Spa.
The opening speech was given by Ingo G. Raeuber, general manager of the Pinnacle
Grand Jomtien Resort & Spa, welcoming all guests, followed by welcomes from
Otmar Deter, president of the Rotary Club Phönix-Pattaya, and Peter Malhotra,
executive advisor to Skål International Pattaya & East Thailand.

Many Rotarians from local clubs showed up, as well as the
sponsors of the event, including Peter Wolf, former managing director of BMW
Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., and new MD Jeffrey Gaudiano.
The event was held next to the beach with an unlimited buffet, variety of
seafood, and more. There was no admission fee, but there were refundable cash
vouchers available to purchase alcoholic drinks, including Weihenstephaner
German beer and a variety of wine.
The event also featured entertainment from violinists, Thailand’s Michael
Jackson Magic Show, a traditional Thai performance by the Pinnacle Show, and a
performance by Barry Upton from the 96 FM radio.

Later on, an auction was held for charity, hosted by Scott
Michael Smith, director of Young Skål and a lecturer at the Thammasat
University. More than 20 items were provided by sponsors of the event, including
hotel vouchers from the Pinnacle Grand, restaurant vouchers, oil paintings, golf
clubs, subscriptions to Pattaya Blatt and more.
The event raised more than 90,000 baht, which was donated to two projects, the
Pattaya Street Kids and Pattaya Orphanage.
