Re: ‘Where is the logic?’
Editor;
I read with some amusement poor Richy’s letter last week, March 28 ‘Where is
the logic?’ If you have been living in the Thepprasit Road area of Jomtien
for twelve years Richy and you can still seriously ask a question like that,
my deepest sympathy goes out to you!
You will remember when they started on the Thappraya road works long before
they started negotiating with the owners of the land needed for the
widening, and eventually on to the 2nd Road extension, I mean, why get that
sorted before starting on the project?
Of course the road foundations are abysmal and constant work is needed to
fill in potholes. Why do a job properly in the beginning so no maintenance
is needed, thus depriving the maintenance crews a job for life!
If everyone had enough water, what would happen to the water truck
operators?
Get real Richy and appreciate living in Thailand for what it is, not what
you would like it to be.
That old adage ‘Be careful what you wish for, it might just come true’
springs to mind.
Sincere regards, also living in Thappraya Road, Jomtien for fourteen years,
and loving every minute of the chaos.

Not the only problem
Editor;
Re: Orderly parking does not compute at Tukcom (PM Friday, 28 February 2014)
- That’s not the only problem in Pattaya South. The shops and stalls have
taken up most of the pavement on the same side as Tukcom and what with
motorbikes parked in the road sometimes there is only about 18inches of
pavement left to walk on! Doesn’t the city council care about its city? The
shambles puts tourists off and then they don’t spend money.
Also, Re: No Beach Road parking? Tour buses take over North Road (PM Friday,
24 January 2014) - If the Pattaya City Council would only sit down and
engage the little grey cells they would see there is a mint of money which
they could make by bringing in good old parking restrictions. Make the
coaches park outside in a proper coach park then charge them for it! Also
stop motorbike hire companies from taking up yards of parking space for
their wares. Again charge them per bike. With a bit of money coming in, who
knows, perhaps some of the holes in the road could be filled in!

Too much money
Editor;
Re: Prostitute drugs, robs Russian tourist (PM Friday, 21 March 2014) - You
never keep such sums in your wallet, never ever. Obviously he isn’t ‘street
smart’. You should only carry what you need and lock the rest away.

No right to force smoke on others
Editor
Re: Re: anti-smoking letters of your last issue (PM Friday, 28 March 2014) -
While Mr. Arnone continues to close his mind to science as he tries to claim
that second hand smoke is not harmful, let me remind him yet again of one
other point that he closes his mind to: No one has the right to force anyone
else to smoke against their will. Any time. Any where. Any amount.
Kindly address that.

Why waste so much water?
Editor;
Re: TAT ready to hold Songkran celebrations nationwide (PM Sunday, 30 March
2014) - If the Tourism Authority of Thailand wants to emphasize the
importance of water, why does the TAT promote Songkran as the World’s
Largest Outdoor Water Fight wasting billions upon billions of liters of
water?

Cameras are all dummies
Editor;
Re: 86% of Pattaya CCTV security cameras out of order (PM Friday, 28 March
2014) - The much touted Beach Rd. cameras lead me to believe they were all
dummies to begin with. Reading the Pattaya newspapers daily, I have never
once heard of an incident captured by them. Yet incidents are reported
almost daily around Soi 13.
