Having their picture taken
Editor;
Re: Politicians, police blame media for Pattaya’s ‘criminal’ image (PM
Friday, 09 August 2013) - Maybe if the police didn’t call the media every
time they want their picture taken after capturing every petty criminal
their “image” wouldn’t be so poor!

Give to the mothers

Re: Banglamung to mark Mother’s Day with alms offering to 82 monks (PM
Friday, 09 August 2013) - Why the monks? They and their wats and hierarchy
have more than enough! Give something to the mothers!

Don’t blame the media

Re: Politicians, police blame media for Pattaya’s ‘criminal’ image (PM
Friday, 09 August 2013) - Very funny. It’s like hiding your face in the
ground to not see the reality. And give responsibility, blaming the media,
for something that is under everyone’s eyes.

What is being done
to increase tourist safety?
Editor;
7 August 2013 - We were in Pattaya a couple of days this past week from
Korat where we live. Along the Jomtien Beach near Silver Sand Villa at 97
Moo 12, I happened to almost fracture my toe on a concrete post stub hidden
in the beach sand. Small problem. The larger issue was being given a firm
electric shock when I leaned up against a light pole nearby to balance
myself so I could clean sand from my feet. I have written to the mayor about
this, but what is being done with the local and foreign community there to
ensure more safety on the Jomtien beaches for all?
Thank you.

We don’t know the full facts

Re: Soi 6 bar busted for pimping underage girl (PM Friday, 09 August 2013) -
While I am not defending the right of a 16 year old to prostitute, we don’t
know the full facts as to how this situation came about. What I am against
is the use of farangs in these sting operations. Pattaya has a falang police
force consisting of men who have not had their background investigated...
Even a straight cop has no time for a narc.

Kangaroo Court
Editor;
This week some of the charges against Bradley Manning were dropped. However,
he may spend the next 90 years in a military prison.
Snowden will get the same treatment & the US states they have no interest in
Julian Assange, could we believe them?
Manning has already served 3 years in a military prison on suicide watch,
solitary confined 23 hours a day. We know how the military treats their
prisoners. (Abu-Ghraib, Guantanamo.) This in itself is a form of torture.
On the other extreme: 20 army officers are charged with the murder of almost
500 civilians, and are congratulated by their commanding general for having
killed 127 Vietcong. On investigation there was no enemy among the dead. Of
the men charged 19 were admonished. Whilst 2nd Lt William Galley pleads
guilty of the killing of 22 civilians, including babies, and administering
the coup-de-gras to the wounded. Sentenced to Life Imprisonment, he spent 3+
years in house detention and was released a free man.

Missing dog reward
Editor;
Our 13 year old golden Pomeranian mix medium sized dog named Jugnu is
missing. He is very old and needs to be taken care of, he’s been missing
since Tuesday, the 30th July 2013. He also has a visible distinctive mark on
his nose.
He was last seen at Burapha Golf course where my parents live at: Burapha
golf course, please find exact address here: 281, JHL Golf Villas Town House
#3C Burapha Golf Club, Moo 4, Tambon Bung, Sriracha, Chonburi 20230
Thailand. We have been searching for him everywhere, giving out pamphlets to
people. We have also put up a reward of 20,000 baht for someone who brings
him back to us. We are concerned that our 4 legged fur baby, Jugnu is very
old and requires special care and attention. It is heart breaking to live
each day without him.
Kindly inform us if you have seen him anywhere.

Still looking for root cause
Editor;
Re: Oil slick causes Bt100 million damage on Samet Island (PM Friday, 09
August 2013) - Root cause of any serious nature must be independently
scrutinised as the article pointed out. 9 leaks is not the reputation of a
national committed oil company and outside help might justify a clean open
review of their procedures. In today’s green climate, the voice of the world
watches the beaches and shorelines of all countries. Root cause must be in
the public interest and urgent responses from PTT.
