annual Rotary Cross Bay Charity Swim since it first started eight years ago.
Proceeds of the fund raising effort benefit the various humanitarian
projects that Rotarians undertake for the good of mankind.

Past Rotary International President Kalyan Banerjee and
his most gracious wife Binota together with PDG Aziz Memon, Chairman of the
Pakistan National Polio Plus Committee made a brief stopover in Bangkok
early this week to visit family and friends. They were welcomed by senior
Thai Rotarians who hosted lunch for the distinguished visitors at the
Kanitha Restaurant in Bangkok. “Past RI President said, “Binota and I
love Thailand very much and we are so happy to be back here again.” (Seated

Pierre Andre Pelletier (centre), GM of the Amari Watergate Hotel,
Bangkok together with his management show off the ‘Best Value Hotel
(International) Travel Award 2013’ which was awarded to the hotel recently.
True to tradition, the management and staff held a party
to celebrate the birthday of Achana Snitwongse Na Ayudhaya, Managing
Director of the Montien Hotel, Pattaya recently. Friends and family
gathered around to witness the birthday girl blow out the candles on her
dazzling birthday cake.

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI)
organized the ‘2nd THAI Spreads Love Along Southern Border’ event as part of
its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) recently. The THAI management and
other volunteer staff travelled to the Royal Thai Marine Corp’s Chulabhorn
Camp in Narathiwat province to present funds that were donated by staff. The
funds are designated for the reconstruction of Tadeeka Mosque at Bacho.
Personal amenities were also presented to the soldiers, teachers and
students. In addition, the Boeing Company donated 1,000 backpacks filled
with school supplies to students living in Narathiwat. The contingent
consisted of Pol. Gen. Wichean Potephosree, Permanent Secretary of
Transport, Apiporn Pasawat, Dr. Sorajak Kasemsuvan, THAI President Flt. Lt.
Montree Jumrieng (6th left), THAI Executive Vice President of Technical
Department, Lt. Athisak Padchuenjai, Donald Frueh, Sales Director, Asia
Pacific & India Sales Commercial Airplanes of Boeing and actress Kemanij
“Pancake” Jamikorn.
