An improvement,
but not enough
Editor;
Re: Wage hike takes sting out of back-to-school shopping (PM Friday,
17 May 2013) - 300 baht a day is a big improvement over the previous rate,
but the constant rise of prices for profit negate the hikes and families
struggle to provide uniforms for the countless celebrations held by the
schools seemingly to make money for the uniform shops. Choke dee.

Beware of dengue
Editor;
Re: Thailand’s dengue patients reach 26,000; 33 deaths recorded this year
(PM Sunday, 05 May 2013) - I just learned my wife is in the hospital with
dengue fever. She lives just outside Pattaya in Pong. Pass the word if you
live in that area to keep the stagnant water areas clean and dry. Use OFF or
any other mosquito repellant handy and use often.

Off the center line
Editor;
Re: Follow the law (PM Friday, 17 May 2013) - In ‘civilized’ America,
motorcycle riders are supposed to ride just (right) off the center line to
keep cars/trucks from forcing them off the road. Take the motorcycle test
and see. Yeah, I know you over aggressive car drivers don’t like it.
Jerry S
Ed’s note: Here in Thailand, the law states that motorcycles must stay as
far to the left as possible. Look it up, it’s in the road test manual.
