Events
The Pattaya New Year Countdown Festival sees nightly celebrations
and fireworks displays at Bali Hai Pier from 8 p.m. until midnight plus a
wide variety of Thai and international music acts on the big stage and games
and fun activities for all the family. As well as food and goods being sold
from booths set up along the Beach Road, there will also be entertainment to
suit the tastes of everyone with traditional Thai songs and dance at the
forefront. The week-long celebrations will culminate on 31 December with the
biggest fireworks display of the year.

The next Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) meeting will be on
Sunday, Dec. 30. Everyone is warmly welcome. Curt Ayers, a former army
captain stationed in Thailand, writing as author C. P. Tertius will talk
about his novel “Every Man Truly Lives Alone”, set in Southeast Asia. The
Club meets every Sunday morning at the Tavern by the Sea restaurant located
on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort). The
program starts as usual at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from
9 to 11 a.m.
The Pattaya International Ladies Club (PILC) organizes regular lunches and
coffee mornings on the first and third Tuesday of every month. There is also
a newcomers coffee meeting at Casa Pascal on Second Road on the last Monday

For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand have been providing
confidential crisis intervention services over the telephone. The
English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates 24 hours a day,
7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community.
English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active,
non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone. All calls

Entertainment
Women With a Mission is holding a benefit concert on January 13
at the Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya’s Hall of Fame. The fabulous line up of
musicians will be headlined by Tuck and Patti and will include a special
appearance by Matthew Kelly of Kingfish fame. Tickets are now on sale priced
